Scouting Leadership
My Scouting leadership journey has included service at the unit, district, and council levels, with a focus on youth leadership development, advancement, outdoor experiences, and mentoring fellow volunteers.
Throughout these roles, I have worked to create opportunities for young people to develop confidence, practice leadership, and grow through the Scouting program. I believe the most meaningful contribution an adult leader can make is to guide and encourage youth while empowering them to lead.
Unit Leadership
Scoutmaster — Troop 685
Pflugerville, Texas | 2017–2026
Served as Scoutmaster of Troop 685 for more than eight years, providing guidance and mentorship to Scouts and youth leaders while supporting a youth-led troop program.
Worked closely with the Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC), helping Scouts plan and lead troop meetings, outdoor adventures, service projects, and other activities. Emphasized leadership development, personal responsibility, teamwork, and the patrol method.
Collaborated with assistant Scoutmasters, the troop committee, and families to provide a safe, engaging program that encouraged youth to challenge themselves and grow as leaders.
In August 2026, I concluded my tenure as Scoutmaster and transitioned to a troop committee member role, continuing to support the unit and its new leadership.
District Advancement Leadership
District Advancement Chair — Blackland Prairie District
October 2017 – January 2025
District Advancement Representative — Armadillo District
January 2025 – May 2025
Served in district advancement leadership from October 2017 through May 2025, supporting Scouts, unit leaders, and district volunteers throughout the advancement process.
As District Advancement Chair and later District Advancement Representative, I helped support the integrity and consistency of the advancement program, with particular emphasis on the Eagle Scout rank and its requirements.
More Than 140 Eagle Scout Boards of Review
Participated in over 140 Eagle Scout Boards of Review, providing opportunities to recognize Scouts' achievements, discuss their leadership experiences, and encourage them to carry the principles of Scouting into adulthood.
These experiences have been among the most rewarding aspects of my service, allowing me to meet and learn from exceptional young people throughout the council.
Council Leadership — National Youth Leadership Training
NYLT Course Director — Spring 2025
Capitol Area Council
Served as Course Director for the Spring 2025 National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course in the Capitol Area Council.
Working alongside youth and adult staff, I helped plan, organize, and deliver a youth-led training experience designed to develop leadership skills, teamwork, communication, and confidence.
The role provided an opportunity to mentor youth staff members as they prepared to lead participants through the course.
Previous NYLT Staff Positions
June 2019 — Quartermaster
June 2021 — Assistant Scoutmaster, Service
December 2021 — Assistant Scoutmaster, Program
March 2024 — Quartermaster
My involvement with NYLT has provided opportunities to support youth leadership development while mentoring youth staff and working alongside dedicated adult volunteers.
Watching participants grow in confidence and return to their units with new leadership skills has made NYLT one of the most meaningful parts of my Scouting experience.
Wood Badge — Adult Leadership Development

Completed Wood Badge, Scouting's advanced leadership training program for adult volunteers.
The experience strengthened my understanding of leadership, communication, team development, and the importance of creating opportunities for others to succeed.

Returned to Wood Badge as a staff member, serving as Troop Guide and supporting adult participants throughout their leadership training experience.
Helped facilitate discussions, encourage teamwork, and support participants as they developed leadership skills to bring back to their units and Scouting communities.
